Time in a Bottle

OK so I really need to apologise to those who read my blogs. They have just been getting worse and worse as the school year moves along. I just don't have anything to write about, and I DON'T HAVE TIME. Time seems nonexistent in my life. I really just want to take some random days here and there and just skip school and sleep all day. Some people say thats what the weekends are for. Well I'm just as busy, if not more busy on the weekends so I never get the chance to sleep in. Skipping school just isn't my thing. You have no idea how horrible I would feel if I even skipped just one day. I don't see how kids do it all the time. Fist off if I skip school then I'll have to take the finals. Second if I skip school that means I skip practice, and then I can't play in a game. I need more hours in a day it's unbelievable. I wish I could just save up time I don't use and put it away in a bottle for another time. Haha like thats really gonna happen. :) Well I'm super tired so I'm gonna go to bed. Goodnight!

Famished over cookies!

So this last Tuesday we had a snow day. That is basically the only reason I like snow. I just sat around all morning in my pajamas and watched T.V. and was a bum. But my mom totally put me to work later that afternoon and we started baking Christmas cookies. If you know me you know that i strongly dislike cook and baking but my mother forces it upon me. It can be fun though sometimes. So we were both stuck in the kitchen all afternoon. With Christmas music blaring throughout the whole house. It was fun I must say, but i was totally wiped out. I don't see how baking can wear you out so much. Weird huh? I love it when your doing something and just out of the blue you feel considerably tired. It's funny the things you do that wear you out.

Wonderful Memories

Yesterday I got the chance to go to my older brothers Christmas concert at his college. They call it Christmas at Luther. This program is just amazing. Luther College is a school overflowing with musical talent. I love to go to this concert because everyone is great and it takes your breath away. Every year they make a C.D. and a video of the concert. So during the concert they encourage you not to make any noise, cough, sniffle, sneeze or anything until the song is over. It always cracks me up how at the end of every song it seems like everyone in the whole audience coughs just because they know they can't do it during the song, they are psyched out! Haha! This year was a year where the television guys were there to tape it, so it was even more of a big deal. This performance is about 21/2 hours long and there is no clapping until the end. Then everyone stands there and claps for what is seems like 5 minuets. It's insane, but wonderful. If anyone ever gets the chance to go to a Christmas At Luther I strongly encourage it. It will blow you away!

Yuck..Mornings

I am defiantly not a morning person. I'm jealous of those who are. Not only am I not a morning person, but I'm not a night owl either. I most defiantly need all the sleep I can get. One thing that really bothers me is when sports teams have morning practices. On Monday we had basketball at 6:15 in the morning. I think these practices are totally pointless. Common who is actually going to be functioning that early in the morning. Not only do they make you get up early, but when you get there, they are easy on you and don't make do anything. Who really wants to go to a sports practice at the butt crack of dawn. Wow, I personally just think they are pointless and unnecessary.

Relax and Enjoy Life

I love how the day after Thanksgiving everything goes totally Christmas. It doesn't really make sense to me. If you think about it Christmas is still over a month to go and everyone is freaking out on making sure to get all of there shopping done. Oh and all of the radio stations go full blown Christmas music a couple weeks before Thanksgiving. There's really not that many songs to listen to on the Christmas theme. They can really get quite annoying the closer you get to the actual holiday. I think people just need to chill and relax. They need to just enjoy life for whats going on at that time. All the sales after Thanksgiving it cracks me up how many people actually go out shopping at 4 in the morning. Like there not going to have another month to shop. Wow people are so funny! Everyone just needs to enjoy life for what it's worth.

Needs Vs. Wants

So yesterday I had Thanksgiving on my moms side of the family. We got the chance to go shopping as well after we ate. This year for Christmas on this side of the family we decided to adopt a couple of families for Christmas instead of buying presents for each other. Yesterday is when we went shopping because all of the family would be there so we thought it would be easiest. MY cousin Katie and I got to shop for this 2-3rd grader (i not sure how old she was). We were kinda just ripping through all of the clothes at the store and throwing them in the cart. All this little girl wanted was a new pair of Khaki pants cause her favorite pair ripped. Seeing that just made me stop and think. Everyone in this world is just so needy, and we just never stop and think about the poor people who can't afford everyday things like that. I just made my whole day when I got to go shopping for this little girl. Just thinking of her reactions when she gets to open all of these presents at Christmas time! I think that really changed me on how I think. We don't always need things, mostly just want, and we need to just get over things in life if they don't go our way.

Short on Time

So this week has been mass chaos for me. My head has just been spinning the whole time. I have so much to think about and do, yet so little time. I had the musical at school, basketball started, and loads of important homework to do. It seems like this week the teachers are just piling on all of the homework and I haven't had any time to do any of it. I have just been so stressed out you have no idea. I just had to burst out in tears a couple of times over stupid stuff. All because of stupid stress. I can't handle it. I guess I'm in just way to much stuff, and i can't manage my time. It was so horrible i hope it does happen again. Also I was so tired all week long. Pretty sure i was about to fall asleep in school about every day. I don't know what to do...help me. I need more time in a day...I'm desperate.

Just be Yourself

So this weekend is the week of our school musical, and we are doing Cinderella! I'm just a townsperson but i'm glad i'm in it! It has been such a blast at play practice for the past few months. We jsut sit there are goof of backstage when there is nothing to do. When it's all over i'm going to be so sad. I will be kinda of happy I get more of my life back though. Latly I have just been so stressed out, so it will be good. If you haven't seen the play yet you need to. Even though tonight is the last night of it. Everyone in it is just fun to be aroung and they are amazing singers. Also they are the type of people at school that are like pumped up all the time and you want to ring there neck because they are so happy and annoying...ALL THE TIME. If you ever get the opportunity to try out for a play i would suggest you do. I thought i would never make it bacause i am just such a shy person around people I don't know. I was so excited when I found out i made it though. My advise to you if you want to try out for a play somwtime is just be yourself and don't care what other people will think of you, but go all out! Everything was just so wonderful and I would like to thank you if you came.

*wow it sounds like i just won an award or something...oh man sorry about that.

Just Take a Step Outside

There are many things that people do that bother me. Especially in today's society. I'm mainly talking about appearance. I feel so bad for people who don't have the best hygiene or can't afford some things you need for everyday life. Everyone always makes fun of those people.(and don't try to say you don't) I know for a fact i have too. This is just so wrong for people to do. Another thing would have to be that people get judged by things they have and what they wear. If you go to school you can tell that the people that shop at the brand name stores are in most cases looked at as more popular. Also things like a phone, and an i pod. I have noticed that some people at school are judged by things like that. Which shouldn't be happening. I think everyone just needs a reality check. Not everyone can afford that type of stuff. Then people think they are gross or bad because they can't. But all you have to do is step out of your shell and go talk to them. You might find out that they are the nicest person in the world, and you may even become friends. Ya never know. I am just encouraging people to step outside of there comfort level and go meet someone new and DON"T JUDGE THEM...

People These Days!

I love listening to Brian Regan he is an awesome comedian! Not only do comedian's crack me up but stupid things that people do. So i was just looking at some funny articles on the Internet. Honestly how can people be so stupid. One of the articles was about a man who was suspected to have crashed due to drunk driving. Well the funny thing is he was driving a beer truck. I mean common people don't just suspect it know it. He's driving a beer truck doesn't that just make since if the driver happens to have crashed from something really stupid, and he's driving a beer truck...hm.. think about it people. Another article was about this man who brought his alligator pet into a bar with him. I guess he had one or two other ones at home as well. What was that guy thinking. Wow! I think I'm just gonna take my pet alligator for a walk into a public place.. alright lets go! NO stop your a moron. First of all Alligators don't live in California so who knows where he got them. Second it's illegal to have an alligator for a pet. Even though this guy was just walking into the bar, I think he was already drunk. Why would you do that. Some people just need to THINK a little. There is another article about a man robbing a bank. Now this one is kinda funny too. So there was this guy right and he went in to rob a bank and all the drawers were empty cause the bank just opened. Right after he figured that out he threatened to file a complaint to the banks management. Haha wow first you try to rob a bank and then try to file a complaint cause there wasn't any money. How stupid are people? One last article I read was about this Roman Catholic Church who's building had been empty for a while. So the townspeople took apart the building one brick at a time. They recently decided to use this building again but it's not there so they put out posters for a missing building by the townspeople. I think that would be really funny. All of a sudden there is a building there and then the next day it is gone, as every person in town has a brick or two hidden in there home someplace. i could just picture someone standing there scratching there head thinking: Where's our building it was here yesterday... Great someone stole our building!!!:) Some people are just weird. !

Blah, Blah, Blah...Elections

So everyone in the whole universe knows that Obama won. Well whatever no one cares! I am just happy that all of this election crap is over. All of this has been going on for over a year, I think for the most part. The commercials on T.V. are the worst too. Mainly just Norm Coleman and Al Frankin. They were so bad, those two were literately eating each other alive. It was bad. I'm just so excited everything is over, so now we can all go back to our normal life until Jan. When Obama takes over the U.S. BOO.. Yeah I don't like him. Hes a loser, but whatever he is going to be in charge of our country for the next 4 years(possibly 8) so I'll just have to live with it i guess. I'm just glad all of this crap is over it got old REALLY fast let me tell you.

And So I Send My Heart Out

In my Journalistic Writing class we are reading a book called "Night" By: Elie Wiesel. Night is a book that was written by a man that lived through the holocaust. This book is just so unbelievably touching I can't even express it in words. I can't even imagine how it would have been to live through that. I send my heart out to those who were forced to live through these tragic times.

Isn't it weird how the German's didn't even care

Isn't it weird how it kind of just came out of nowhere

Isn’t it weird how the Jews had no idea what was going on and what might happen to them

Isn’t it weird how cruel and inconsiderate all the German officers were to all of the poor Jews

Isn’t it weird how when they got to the consideration camps they split up the families

Isn’t it weird how they killed everyone but the Strong men

Isn’t it weird how they threw children that were still alive into the crematorium

Isn’t it weird how inhumane they treated all of the people

Isn’t it weird how they were treating everyone like dogs

Isn’t it weird how they didn't care if you died

Isn’t it weird how they didn't feed them barley anything, and forced them to work without stopping all day long

Isn’t it weird how they literately beat people to death if they did MAYBE one thing wrong

Isn’t it weird how some people couldn't run anymore so they fell to the ground and got trampled to death

Isn’t it weird how some people couldn't stand any longer so they fell to the ground landing on top of people and suffocated them to death

Isn’t it weird how the Jew's didn't do anything yet they were forced to go through all of this??

Isn’t it weird how some people think

Once I read the end of the book i was basically crying. Everything was just so sad all the things they made them do and go through. Honestly I don't think I would be able to have went through all that and still be alive. So once again I say I give my heart out to those who had to live through the Holocaust.

Remembering Sad Times

This last Friday we had our fall choir concert. It was the first of the year, and for the most part i think it went well. The Concert Choir sang this song called "Requiem." This song was about the tsunami that hit in 2005 and then hurricane Katrina right after. The choir teacher had warned us about this song and how touching it was so i was prepared when I heard it. Everything in the song is just so simple, but is so touching. Also there is an ending chord for the song and then there is just this silent chord, it's just amazing how it fit the song. It was there just so you can think about everything and the song.(except at the second concert these stupid people started clapping in the middle of the silent chord and it totally ruined the WHOLE SONG-way to go...) By the first 5 words of the song I was crying. If you have never heard this song you need too, just look it up on the Internet sometime. The melody of Requiem is just so simple I love it but it totally fits the song I guess. It's just so tragic, natural disasters that happen in our world. I send my heart out to those who have lost loved ones. While I was listening to the song I didn't know what to do? I was just sitting there and I could fell the water-works coming almost instantly. Should I let them out or try to keep them out?? Well everyone around me was kinda just sitting there so when I started balling I just sat there trying to hide it cause I felt like an idiot. Well right after that song at the concert all of the choirs had to do a finale piece so I go to get lined up and my eyes were all red and my face was all splotchy from crying. I got over it and I don't regret what I did at all because the song deserved it.

The great journey to your locker

So don't you just love having to push your way through the locker bay everyday just to get to your locker. When all of a sudden you get there to find some people making out.. I mean really people-get a room. I find it really disgusting all the people that make out in between classes at our school. It bugs be SOOOOOO much. Especially when you have to literately push through like 5 of them just to get to your stinking locker. I have never had a boyfriend(technically) but I've had people ask me but i rejected them cause they were gross. Oh and this one kid was super bad and he was going to beat up my twin brother Tim because he liked me so much. What is wrong with that picture?HMM? But yeah this summer there was this boy and we weren't technically dating but we basically were. Anyways were not talking about my love life, but other peoples. I think people just need to be more considerate to those around them. I mean they don't even care. They just want to face plant each other. WOW, well thats a normal school day for ya at Albert Lea High School!...YAY!

The Final Countdown

I love it when sports teams come back and win the game in the last few seconds. I just think it's the coolest, and most exciting thing ever. Well only if it's your team. Like the football game last Wednesday night Albert Lea vs. Austin-dun,dun,dun!! The game was all tied up and in the last 3 seconds Albert Lea came in with a touchdown, and won the game! It was amazing. Or the Vikings game this afternoon vs. the Chicago Cubs yea the vikings totally could have done the same thing if they didn't throw a stinkin interception. I totally thought they would come back and win it...but did they, NO. GRRR Anyways like if a basketball team is down by like 20 points and then they score a game winning buzzer shot, and then everyone runs down screaming to the court! YAY moments like that really excite me!! I wish more stuff like that would happen, then people might get more into the game. Yeah and i hate it when people go to a football game and don't' even care what happens i mean common you need to get into the game people. Wow. Anyways yeah buzzer shots rock!

The Human Body

Don't you think it's weird how you are basically dominate on one half of your body. I mean if you are right handed you do most things with your right hand, and left, well with your left hand. Personally i think it is very weird and annoying. Like if you try to do something you can do with your dominant side of the body. Then you try to do it on the other half of the body and you are basically handicap, and it's nearly impossible to do for the most part, or you just look ridiculous trying to do it. For example i just painted my fingernails, and i could paint my left hand perfectly fine, because i was holding the brush thing in my right hand, but right when i tried to do the other hand it took about 5 times longer, was super difficult, and 90 times sloppier. i pretty much had paint all the way up my hand, haha. It was funny though! Another example would be dribbling a basketball you have your dominant hand and then you try to do it with your other hand and it's just super difficult. isn't it just weird how the human body works?

Oh Boy, Electronics

So don't you just love how like everyone in the whole universe has a phone. EXCEPT ME.:( It totally stinks because my dad has been working for a phone company for like 10 ish years. My parents have this dumb rule on how we can't get a phone until we are 16/ get our licence. Because then we will be driving places so they need to know where we are. Well today my parents let my brother and I get phones!! For those of you who don't know I have a twin brother. The thing is whenever we did get phones we would have to start paying our part of the bill. So guess what, i get to start paying a phone bill. Yay! I'm just super excited that they let us get phones. I just felt so out of the loop when I didn't have one. Oh and pretty sure we were like 2 out of maybe 15 people in the whole school who didn't have one so i felt dumb, especially cause my dad sells them. But whatever I'm good now I need to stop freakin out. Oh and I'm so sorry for those of you who don't have a phone I know how you feel, and I'm sorry if this offended anyone.

Fall is Falling all over!

Don't you just love the season fall. It is just so beautiful all over the place. With the leaves falling everywhere and it's not to hot, but not to cold. Oh and of course it totally NOT winter yet. Ya no I really hate winter it drives me insane. All of the cold weather oh, and snow... Annoying. Anyways fall just makes everything so pretty with all of the trees changing. I love it! One of the best things is when the tree is like 3 different colors, like yellow then green then scarlet. I think the trees that are a scarlet type color are the best, by far!! Fall is just so amazing it totally changes my outlook on life sometimes. Because I will be thinking wow Albert Lea is LAME and nothing good ever happens in Minnesota. But were like perfect, cause we get all 4 seasons unlike those Florian's. Everything just makes me grin from ear to ear. But fall is not always fun because you have to rake up all the leaves when there all dead and shriveled up. But you can jump in them!! Fall is just falling all over the place...YAY!

Community of Love

So the community of Albert Lea isn't is just great! Everyone is just so caring, helpful and respectful. For the most part I'm talking about the Home Makeover House! I think it is the coolest thing that someone from Small-town USA would bring adventure to Albert Lea by "winning" a house. All the stories on that show are just so touching, and they always make me cry. One of the best parts about this whole experience is the community. Everyone just came together for the Love of the DeVries family. So far I have been out to the house every day except the first day. It is just so amazing on how everything works, and all the people working. It just makes me feel all warm and cozy inside- all the love spreading! I am just so touched by all of this that has been going on in the past week. Everyone that is working must be exhausted working a real job during the day, and then coming in to work at the house from midnight to morning. All of the people are volunteers as well. Not only are there people volunteering, but there are many company's donating tons of people, things and time. The people there cheering the workers on as well, it's just so cool. If you haven't been down to see the house yet you really need to, it's amazing. Congrats Derik and the DeVries Family! I'm looking forward to seeing the final out come of the house! I will try to add some pictures to my blog if anyone is interested. Well I'm gonna go cause my family is watching Toy Story so gotta go watch it with them!! YAY!!

Fun Times in the Cities

A couple of weeks ago I had the chance to go to a MN Lynx game(and for those of you who don't know thats the MN WNBA team). I won these tickets at the state fair and my older brother offered to go to the game with me. The game was a blast and I was super surprised at how many people don't go to those games. Common' people womens basketball is totally getting gypped. Anyways I'm not really gonna talk about the game just the fun times after. So after the lynx game my brother and I started heading home. But neither of us new how to get out of the cities we were completely lost. After about 10 min. of random driving around with crazy people from the cities we decided to plug our home address into our navigation system. That didn't really seem to work though. We were both like sweet now we can just find the road and get home... OR NOT. The navigation system had us literally driving around on random streets, and we were both pretty sure we were going in circles (some what). It was Pretty Hilarious we started out in Minneapolis, then went to Eagon, then St. Paul, then Bloomington, then to a bunch more random towns. It was insane. This is crazy all we were tring to do was find an on ramp to I-35. We saw the road about a million times but there was no way to get on it. Really we got really sick of it after about an hour. My brother was swearing up the wall at our car and was about to smash it into a brick wall. This wasn't even fair because it was a school night. We were both beat and after about an hour and a half- not even exaggerating we finally found an on-ramp to head home. We were both so beat when we finally got home at about 12:30. It was fun while it lasted, but fun times just don't last forever:)

About Two Blondes

This last Tuesday my friend and I stayed after school for our Volleyball match. You may not think of either of us crazy people, but if you get to know us, oh you will be surprised! Anyways on with my story, we were sitting at a table in the lunchroom doing our homework, and we got bored so we searched for something to go do. I mentioned I saw a Volleyball cart out so we could go mess around with a Volleyball. Well when we got there, there was nothing so we started looking for on e behind all of the bleachers. YAY! we found one. We were just bumping it back and forth, and we decided to call our other friends down to come play with us. My friend called them and right when she got off the phone i tossed her the ball and she bumped it REALLY high... and it got stuck above the court in this net thing. We were so mad, so we started looking for another ball or something we could throw to knock down the volleyball. All we found was a flat tennis ball. Yeah right, haha. So we tried to use that. Just picture these two girls tring to aim and knock down a Volleyball with a tennis ball. We totally hit the volleyball and it rolled to the edge but couldn't get over the metal rod. Eventually I got the tennis ball stuck up there.Oh great we were thinking! What are we supposed to do now. Well my friend was very hyped up at the time, so she goes over and grabs a propel bottle, with about 1/4 a bottle let to drink. Out of no where she started chucking that at the ball making sure to catch it every time. Um.. Well every time but once. The one time she dropped it the bottle burst open, and there was propel all over the court. We both booked it to the locker room for paper towels. Luckily we got it all cleaned up before anyone noticed. Since the ball was stuck we just decided to play imaginary Volleyball, oh was that ever interesting, haha:) Not long after all that excitement some upper-class man walked in and started playing the warm up C.D. and we all started dancing crazy all over the gym!

Memories

So on April 20, 2006 my grandma died from cancer. It was the worst day of my life. I just remember the moment my mom told me, I will just sit there and replay it in my mind. I was in the bathroom getting ready for school, and my mom walked in and told me the news. I just sat there. I went to school that day as well because I didn't know what else to do. That morning I had to go to school early because i had jazz band too. During school i remember I didn't tell anyone and i was just depressed all day long, and some of my teachers knew so they would mention it and I would just burst out in tears. She was amazing. She taught piano every day after school, and of course she was my piano teacher as well. It seems like ever since she passed away I never seem to play the piano anymore even though i have played for more like 10ish years. Family holidays are never the same either, and it doesn't help that my grandpa got remarried like a year later because he was so alone. Nothing seems to be the same when i go and visit. Church is never the same either because every single week she would play the organ and now my mom does, its just not the same. I will just think about all the things she it going to miss out on , not just my stuff but she has 10 grandchildren and the things they will all do as well. Like graduation and Weddings and just small simple things like watching us play sports or going to concerts of ours. This whole thing probably sounds super cheesy, but my grandma was practically my mom. I just need to express my emotions somehow so this is what I thought I could do.

I Hate Stupid People

So this week at school it's HOMECOMING!!! This is like one of the best weeks of the whole year. :) All the different dress up days like:
Monday-Dress your best day
Tuesday-Nerd day
Wednesday-College gear day
Thursday-Pirate day
Friday-Cherry and Blue day
Anyways for the football game on Friday the band has to play before the game, and do a little thing on the field during halftime. This year since there really wasn't a marching band everyone in band has to do it. I think it is really stupid and pointless because we are going to play one song and the the school song and thats all. People in the community also made a huge deal about how it sucked last year because we didn't all dress the same that this year for two whole songs we get to wear the stinkin' marching band uniforms. I think it' s super stupid and the old people in the community need to get over the fact things change over time. So that is the dumbest thing about this week besides the fact that nobody in the stinkin' school ever dresses up for the dress up days. Common people it's called school spirit even if you think you look stupid, nobody cares... Sorry about all this I am kind of just venting a little about everything. Oh yeah and on Friday we have a field day so we get out of school early to go do fun field activities, and i found out today that i have stinkin' volleyball practice after that. WOW thats dumb we didn't last year but i guess we just suck this year..which is true but still it's HOMECOMING. AHHHHH anyways I feel much better after venting a little, but i should probably stop blogging before i smash my fingers through this keyboard form typing so hard.

Red Rover, Red Rover Send the Quarterback over...

Is all fair in the world today??? Well who knows...anyways last night i went to a football game because I had to play for pep-band. As the game went along I got talking with my friend about the game of football in general. We both decided that it seems to just be a huge game of red rover! Why you might ask, well because there are two lines, offense and defense and they basically just run at each other. Sports seem really funny sometimes don't they? Not only is football funny like that but basketball is kind of like monkey in the middle in someways. All you try to do is keep the ball away from the other team by passing it to your own team mates. Another example would be that Baseball and softball are sort-of like hot potato because you don't want to hold onto the ball you need to get it in to try and get your enemies out. There are probably several other examples I could come up with but I think you get the picture. Not by any means am i making fun of sports because sports are pretty much my life but I just think its funny how some things work. Life is just hilarious isn't it!?!

Homework OVERLOAD...

Hey,
So I'm new at this hole blogging thing so don't be disappointed if it stinks. Well I'm not really sure about what to write so i guess since this blogging thing is homework I'll write about school. I go to Albert Lea high school this year I'm not sure if it's just me but there has been homework overload in like every class. Plus it's only been like one week of school. Not really sure whats up with it but maybe it will be like this every year cause I'm moving up in the world. Homework really stinks if you know what i mean especially if you in 3 sports like i am. (I play volleyball, basketball, and softball) It's nearly impossible to get it all done sometimes, and really common now barely finding time for homework, then having to find time to go on the computer to write a blog twice a week this is really going to be a challenge...Rarely ever do i even go on the computer during the school year unless it's a weekend, then i might be able to slip it in somewhere. I really think teachers need to reconsider what days of the week they give out homework because it seems like they all shovel it out on Tuesdays and Thursdays...game nights! But whatever i guess I'll just have to get over it and find time for everything in life, cause it's just gonna get worse from here on. Well I've got to go finish some math homework..bye!! oh and by the way my volleyball team lost tonight but they were very close matches.
